Hello friends, it’s almost February! A special scrappy month to celebrate all things L.O.V.E. 😘 I’ve used a pretty cut file from Paige’s, 14 Days Of Valentine Cut Files Bundle called ‘Roses’. You’ll get 14 love themed cut files for just $14 and OMGee, that’s a fabulous deal !
Using Paige’s gorgeous cut files, I plan my entire layout in the Silhouette Design Studio. I make all the backing pieces there too and color them, so I can easily choose paper for cutting when ready. I’ll file it all, just like this, for next time.
To start, in the Silhouette Design Studio, I made an oval frame, then copied it 3 times, overlaid the frames and welded them together to make an oval wreath (it measured approximately 11″ x 10″). Then, on a 2nd mat in the Silhouette Design Studio, I opened Paige’s, Roses Cut File. I right-sized it a bit (it was approximately 8.75″ x 8.25″), then brought it over to the mat with my new oval wreath. I play with it a to get the size looking right for the size of the wreath.
Once the Roses Cut File was right-sized for my oval wreath, I dragged it off the mat to make an offset of it. I moved the off-set back onto the mat, placing it in the lower right hand corner of the wreath and used the Weld Tool in the Silhouette Design Studio to put the two together. This became the base for Paige’s, Roses Cut File, on my layout, it’s cut out of Horizon Paper 1. Splendid Paper 5 would also be so pretty, but I no longer had a piece big enough.
Once paper-backed and hand stitched, I popped it up with 3d foam tape on another cut file. Paige’s, Layered Plaid Background Cut File, #325411 was cut from the pretty pink B side of Garden Shoppe Paper 24. To add even more texture and interest, I crossed stitched the background, here and there, with DMC Floss. Here’s the paper I used to back the Roses Cut File.
Finally, I’ve embellished with lots of pretty Garden Shoppe. Including Floral Ephemera, Phrase Thickers, Cardstock Stickers, Butterflies, Icon Die Cuts and Epoxy Buttons.
