Colorful World Mini Album with Go The Scenic Route

Hello crafty friends! I’m back with a pretty project for Paige Taylor Evans, Silhouette Design Team. I’m still crazy for Go The Scenic Route and it was perfect for my colorful mini.

I’ve been thinking about this new year and a world filled with hopefulness. So I chose to design with Paige’s Globe cut file as my base, again using Paper 21.  Then I made tags to hang on it. I wanted to focus on four aspirations this year: face the sun, make a splash, go places and shine.

Of course, there’s a tassel or two. The ‘mini jewelry’ is a combo of an altered Bloom Street Tassel, a beaded tassel made with stuff from my stash and a charm from Go The Scenic Route. I seem to be grooving on orange lately. I guess I’ve gotten over the 80’s, ha!

Each tag is a nod to one of my aspirations this year. I added an acetate overlay to the cover to have a smooth surface for the Foam Mini Thickers title. You can separate the globe from the stand with the knife tool in Silhouette Studio.

The first tag, Face The Sun, is a shaker made with Paige’s Aztec Background cut file. It’s adorned with pretty Floral Die Cuts and Enamel Stickers. To me, it’s a reminder to always focus on the positive.

The second tag, Make A Splash, features Paige’s Splash cut file. How perfect right?  This tag reminds me to not hold back, just go for it.

The third tag, Go Places, is wishful thinking. Jim and I love to travel and we really missed that in 2020. So I’m putting it out there, “I aspire to go places again!” That’s me on a gondola in Venice. Paige’s Sneaker cut file was perfect because I have several pairs, including pink and they’ve been around the world with me. I’ve added another Floral Die Cut and the gorgeous globe from the Chipboard Stickers.

The final design is on the back inside cover of my album. It’s Paige’s Chandelier cut file, reminding me to Shine. Whether supporting a friend, encouraging others, or just smiling at a stranger, there’s always a way to shine everyday.

Full details of all the gorgeous product can be found at my post on Paige’s blog. Thinking about making a mini album?  Here’s my top tips, using one collection all the way through is more appealing to the eye and picking a theme will help you choose from Paige’s giant collection of cut files.

As always, I really appreciate your visits, thanks for joining me! xK

  1. A wonderful way to begin the year Kelly. Lovely to see the photos of you and learn of your aspirations. Like you, I adore the “Scenic route” collection and love to travel. We are not brave enough to venture interstate at this stage of the pandemic. Thank goodness for creative hobbies to feel our spirits. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Hi Helen, Thanks so much for coming by and your beautiful message! We’re not traveling either, not even province to province. You can’t risk it here with new variants being reported everywhere.
So sorry for this delayed reply. You might have seen news about my Kneecap and surgery. The first week after surgery has been a blur. I’d be awake for periods of time but so unorganized about mail and blogs etc. Please know your messages mean the world and finding it here this morning put a big smile on my face. xo K

    1. Hello sweet friend! So sorry for the delayed reply. Thank you so so much for your message! The titles are my little affirmations, nothing Earth shattering but what I want to think about everyday. The Globe was just the perfect cut file for conveying these things in my little world. xoxoK
