So Loved Layout

Hey friends, how’s everything in your part of the world? This Covid thing is getting to be a long haul isn’t it? I’m really missing girlfriends and since we can’t travel to visit, I’m easing the longing for their warm hugs in my craft room.

I’ve made this layout with a pretty cut file, ‘Rainy Day’, gifted to me by lovely Anett Gelencser. You can find Anett’s beautiful, hand drawn cut files in her Etsy Shop and stunning creations on her Instagram feed.

I knew I wanted to use gorgeous Go The Scenic Route by Paige Taylor Evans and picked out some of the solid colours in the collection.

With the colours picked out, I was able to make all the backing pieces in Silhouette Studio by: releasing the compound path and offsetting each and every backing piece. I then made each backing piece a colour and moved it back to the cut file.

I made all my photos slightly smaller than 2×2 so I could back them with the 2×2 Paper Pads in Go The Scenic Route. I really fancy the tiny patterns that match the 12×12 designer papers.

The journaling was made with a Silhouette Sketch Pen. After typing it out, I dragged one letter at a time to its place under the cut file. Then, I moved the cut file off the mat, leaving only the journaling in place and sent the plain white cardstock through the Cameo.

I really love the phrase cards in the 2×2 Paper Pads too, this one was perfect and I added some stitching on my sewing machine. That dainty stamped flowers were made with the stamp set from Go The Scenic Route.

I added my title, made with Thickers from Go The Scenic Route and Whimsical in the clouds and added flowers I’ve fussy cut from Paper 18. There’s no shortage of flowers in this collection and I love that!

The clouds are also white cardstock, chain-stitched with holes made on my Cameo. Here’s a video to show you how.

Hope you caught a useful tip or two here

and that your crafty days are filling you up!

Cheers dears, Kelly ❤️🌸

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛
