Paige Taylor Evans – 13 Days of Halloween Cut Files, #10 The Spider Web

Hello, hello and Happy (almost) Halloween. The lovely Paige Taylor Evans and some of your favourite designers have been sharing inspirations from Paige’s 13 Days Of Halloween Bundle at her Facebook Group, Happy Scrappy Place. It’s been awesome and inspiring to see all the gorgeous projects! So do, visit, join and follow the group for all the fun. I’ve used day #10 The Spiderweb and beautiful Go The Scenic Route.

To start, I planned my layout in Silhouette Studios as usual. I like playing with the colours I know I have available and get a good idea of what size to print my photos. I usually make all the backing cut files here too. Simply release the compound path, and offset each section to get a slightly larger piece (I used .70 for the offset).

After cutting out Paige’s spiderweb from navy AC Cardstock, I cut it into about 2/3 and 1/3 then back stitched both pieces with silver thread. I cut out the paper-backing pieces on my Cameo 3 from bits of Go The Scenic Route I have left from other projects. I didn’t actually cut a piece for every single section, leaving some spaces open to get a peek of the background, Paper 4. I LOVE all the colourful hearts! I also cut a piece of vellum to tape in behind the cut file to slightly fade the background paper behind the web. I think it helps define the cut file a little more.

I used the Scenic Route stamp with Archival Ink in pink, yellow and aqua to make the little mandala button tucked in on the left of Anna’s photo.  I stamped each colour three times, then fussy cut each image. The first one I cut out the whole stamp, the second one I cut out just the inside mandala and the third one I cut out just the inside circle. You’ll have three pieces of each colour and can put them together in different combos.  I also stuck in a foam dot in there to give it dimension.

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛
