Burano Mini Album with Go The Scenic Route

Thanks so much for visiting! Today it’s a fun mini album for Paige’s Silhouette Design Team.  Burano, Italy is a colourful little island a short boat ride from Venice.  Of course I used Go The Scenic Route. Complete product details and links are at Paige Taylor Evans Blog today.

The cover was made using Paige’s Doily Corner Cut File cut from white AC Cardstock. It was perfect for two reasons. First, Burano is famous for their hand made lace. The little doily in all the photos is a treasure I brought back for myself. Second, this cut file has two flat edges ! Hello mini album.

I really loved working with all the colour papers and making an extra tassel to go along with one from Paige’s Bloom Street collection. How gorgeous is the bird charm? Also part of this collection and just 1 of 6 you get in a set.

Off we went by boat to the Island of Burano. What a beautiful day it was. I used the Scenic Route stamp with Archival Ink directly on top of the photo. Then added a shadow with my Gold gel pen.

Paper 15 is full of sweet bird images and so lovely, I just added a couple of photos because I didn’t want to cover the birds. I loved being able to point to Burano on a map using Paper 5 and a tag from the Ephemera Pack . I sewed on the word ROAM from the Puffy Word Stickers and used a tiny Enamel Dot to mark the spot.

You’ve probably seen this view before, it’s so iconic. For sure, I had to  ‘Snap A Photo’. It’s from the Puffy Phrase Sticker sheet.

The shaker was embellished with butterflies from the Ephemera Pack an Imagine sticker and a little bit I cut out of the packaging because it’s so pretty.

Here I am at the Market !  Paige’s Cityscape Cut File reminded me of the tall houses in Burano. I cut them from bit’s of Go The Scenic Route to make my own street. The background paper is a combo of two sheets from the 6×8 Paper Pad. The smaller prints are so perfect for mini albums.

The next page, while it took 3 days to stitch, is my favourite.  Inspired by Paige, I stitch a floral paper from the 6×8 Paper Pad with DMC Embroidery Floss. Since the flowers are quite small and delicate, I only used 4 strands of thread.

All I added was the word ‘Love’ from the Puffy Phrase Stickers.  On the opposite side is my guy, ‘relaxing’ in the shade while I shopped. The phrase is from the Puffy Word Stickers.  A journalling tag from the Ephemera Pack is tucked in behind the photo, topped it off with bits of ribbon, string and tulle from my stash.

Last page ! I made a journaling tag using Paige’s cute Stacked Suitcase Cut File . When I remove the suitcases (tag), there’s all the stuff I forgot to pack! Good grief, there’s always something, ha!

Fittingly, my back cover asks, “Where to next” . The perfect question via the Puffy Phrase Stickers

Finally, here’s my YouTube flip-thru with a Silhouette tutorial if you’d like to create your own album using Paige’s beautiful Corner Doily cut file.

Thank you so much for being here, I hope we can all enjoy

traveling once again soon. It’s so good for the soul.

    1. Hello hello ! Thank you so much for visiting and your message Lavinia. Hope all is well in your sweet valley. Yes, stitching on paper is rather easy. No threads to count, you just follow the paper pattern. I’m no expert by far. Paige does beautiful stitching with very even stitches. I think it’ll come with practice though and I really love the look. Have a wonderful week my dear, hugs! xk
