Hello again sweet friends! You’ve probably heard, I got to spend time in Denver this summer with Paige Taylor Evans and Andrea Lake at their Splendid Weekend Event. There were lot’s of fun classes and a magical visit to Paige’s beautiful craft room too! Yes way!
I also got to meet so many crafty friends including this sweetheart, Ramie Gibbs of @Justramiebeingcrafty. This is one of the most kind and generous girls around who also just got a new grandson! We took this photo just before I had to leave. Of course I wanted a layout to celebrate our time spent together. The smile banner, from the Epoxy Stickers, is perfect because Ramie has the best smile!!
I have two new Youtubes up today, the first will show you how I made my background in the Silhouette Design Studio using Paige’s Doily Cut File #228016 .
It’s backed with beautiful Splendid Paper 1 and topped with the second cut file I used, Paige’s Circle Doily Cut File #216843
I paper-backed the Circle Doily with beautiful colour from Paige’s Splendid Collection with the idea of making a colour wheel. For example, green and yellow makes lime, pink and blue makes mauve and so on.
After the papers where added, I chain stitched the entire doily with complementary DMC floss using only 5 strands on my needle.
I popped up the finished Circle Doily with 3D Foam Tape and began to add embellishments, including the Floral Die Cuts, Cardstock Stickers, Buttons, Epoxy Phrase Thickers and Heart Paper Clips!
Layering everything as I went along with either liquid glue or 3D foam tape for extra dimension.
For the most part, I tried to keep my embellishments tone on tone so it wasn’t too busy looking. Finally, I added the tiny bits I add to every layout, Sequins & Enamel Shapes , dots of gold paint and gold Stickles and gold thread from my stash.

Happy sunny Sunday lovely Alys! I had a ball in Denver and so happy I got to go and then visit together after. It was dicey with Petals for a couple of weeks, but all’s well that ends well ! Paige is just so sweet and kind. Inviting everyone arriving Friday. We DM’d on Thursday when I arrived and she offered to have me over for dinner too !! But being a vegetarian and her family isn’t, I thought that would be awful to have them try and figure that out on such a busy weekend, LOL, I’m terrible to feed. Thanks so so much for always cheering me on, I say it often, but this is a dream gig 💗 I love the papers, the cut files and Paige too 💗🌸
