Hi friends, thank you for visiting ! It’s Day 12 of 20 Days of Paige’s exclusive, ’20 Days of Fall/Autumn Cut Files Bundle’
I was so happy to be assigned the ‘Leaf Quilt’ Cut file! I knew the tiny and sweet patterns in Bungalow Lane were going to be so perfect with it, just like making a vintage quilt.
My layout reminds me of a quilt made from bits and pieces of fabric, maybe recycled from dresses worn to church or other linens that have done their duty but still too pretty to discard. Before being a scrapper, I did sew a few quilts and even then, loved mixing pattern and colour.
After paper backing Paige’s cut file, I chain stitched the with gold metallic thread and popped up my quilt on my background with foam tape. I then framed that with a second background paper so I could distress the edges a bit and have a pretty pattern revealed beneath. I adore the embellishments with Bungalow Lane, especially the little finches siding each of my photos. You can learn to stitch too at Paige’s tutorials on YouTube!
My photos are of my dad at home on the farm. The little plastered house was heated with a wood stove and lit by oil lamp after dark. But even without electrical, Baba made it so pretty and cozy. I remember the flooring, it was lino with giant flowers all over it. How sweet and feminine. See the big radio in the corner of the room? It ran on giant batteries. We sure have it easy these days.
A bunch of tiny butterflies fly around my page, they’re cut from Paige’s, Layered Butterflies cut file. Beautiful work, Kelly!
On quilting – I’ve always been interested in quilting, but I know it takes a lot of time. Days pass all too quickly here.

Hello lovely ! Thank you so much for your visit and message! I know what you mean about days passing quickly. I’ve never written things down on a calendar. It seemed to structured for me. NOW, if it isn’t written down, I easily forget or say something like, “oh, is that today?” LOL. Time really has sped up I think 🌸🧡💛 xK
