Welcome back crafty friends ! Today I’m sharing Card 2 of 10, design especially for my custom 5 x 6 x 2.5 inch Memorydex box.
If you’re just catching up, start with The Memorydex Box Tutorial. Then grab Card 1 from week one.
Card two was designed with another cut file by Paige Evans called Honeycomb Background
I’ve edited the Honeycomb cut file to make it easier to stitch on, if you enjoy that. I always think it adds a lot of interest and texture. After cutting it out, I pierced holes with a pin, then chain stitched with 6 strands of a variegated DMC thread. The yellow odd shape is the cut file for the card. I cut two, one from white AC Cardstock and one from pattern paper. After securing them together with a bit of tape, I machine stitched all around the edge.
This is what the cut file looks like when you open it.
Use this link to download the Studio3 file.
The Studio3 cut file will download in a ZIP File. Once it’s on your desktop, double click the ZIP File and a folder pops out. Double click the folder and you’ll see the cut file. Drag it into either your Silhouette Library or right onto a mat in the Silhouette Design Studio. Away you go.
If you don’t have a Silhouette and want to work with an SVG, send me an email. It’s Kellymadeit.wordpress@gmail.com and I’m happy to send you the SVG. If you want to do the entire project, I’ll continue to send you the SVG each week, for each new card. You only need to contact me once!
There’s two sizes of the hexagons in the cut file. The larger one is to paper-back the honeycomb, like I have. The smaller one is if you want to pop up a hexagon or two. That would look cute too. I left four spots in my honeycomb blank so I could add a title with alpha’s from my stash. We all have lots, right?
Not keen on Bee You? How about Bee Kind, Bee Happy, Bee Still, Bee Silly. I’m sure you can think of something fun.
The Pebbles Paper collection I’ve used has cute little bee stickers. If you don’t have bees in your collection or stash, I’ve included a little bee cut file too. Just size it to fit your design.
Finally, to add a bit of whimsy. I made a small hole on the edge of my card to add a dangler. Snoop through your stash, make it your own! Fun and pretty !
Come on back next Sunday for Memorydex Box Card 3
Cheers from Kelly 💛🌸

These cut files are for your Personal Use only and not to be distributed or resold as your own. Thank you so much.
Yup…I’m going to say it: This is bee-utiful. You are the bee’s knees, my dear; sweeter than honey in fact. You know how to have a buzzing good time in that Boom Room. I LOVE love love this card. xo

dawww, you spoil me Ms. Milner 💛🌸 Thanks a bunch for your fab message. I do love to focus on a project most days, other than slowly getting the yard in shape. I’ve gotten into a cozy routine of waking at 9am (lol), coffee and mail and morning news to 11am, craft room antics till 4pm, then it’s wine-o-clock with Jim. I’m one lucky lady 💛🌸💛smooch !

I’ll tell you a bit later about what’s crafty here. Busy making a mess right now. Just had to tell you how in awe I am over these beauties. My imagination doesn’t even go there. They are superb.

Hey hey Marlenie-bean 💛 A mystery mess? How intriguing, lol ! If I had to guess, you’re outside chopping something, pulling out something or planting something. Or maybe you’re feeling super jacked, maybe all three 😃hehehe.
Thanks so much for cheering me on. I have a million (or at least 30 😁) card ideas rattling around in my head. It’s been lots of fun 💛💛💛

Hi Derrick! Fun for me anyways, ha! I’d guess you and Jackie would rather be in your gorgeous garden, reading a classic book or visiting ponies along your forest drive. I’m missing the fun at Ramblings, will visit soon 💛 Cheers xK

This is so creative. I have the Heidi Swapp pink memorydex and haven’t made anything for it yet. So I think I’ll make these, they’re super cute.

Hi hi Lindy! Thanks so so much. I have a feeling, as I’ve designed them, they’d be too tall to spin around the Heidi Swapp Memorydex.
BUT after you cut out the card base and pattern paper cover for it, you could trim off enough from the bottom that would allow it to spin around. Then repunch your card with the Heidi Swapp MD Punch if you have one. It makes the two holes that allow it to hang on the MD.
Let me know if I can help xox 🌸💛
