Fa La La Layout With Go The Scenic Route

With Halloween in the rearview mirror, I’m starting to think about Christmas crafting, are you too? Fun fact, I have a little aqua tree for my craft room with dedicated ornaments in aqua and pink.

Could these papers, from pretty Go The Scenic Route, be any more perfect?

I’ve used Paige’s FA LA LA Cut File from her 25 days of Christmas Cut Files.  You can also buy the entire bundle that includes the backing pieces!!  Hello! Christmas scrapping has never been easier. I cut it from white AC Cardstock, then off-set the cut file and cut it again out of navy cardstock. Each layer was popped up with foam tape on the dainty blue floral background, the B side of Paper 23.

This floral square, from the Chipboard Stickers, was the perfect match and message.  Happiness is: the many vintage ornaments I’ve collected along the way and love using every Christmas.

The pink and floral chipboard piece is 3×3 inches, so I made my photo the same size for balance. The letters in FA-LA-LA were cut from the B side of Paper 20, a gorgeous pink and the B side of Paper 9, a stunning two tone blue. I just love how the three papers meld together so well. I decorated three of the letters with half of a foil mandala from the Ephemera Die Cut pack.

Rather than backing the cut file, all the letters are popped up with foam tape and make the 4th layer of my layout.  Working on a diagonal, I added light blue flowers from the Floral Die Cut pack, navy fussy cut flowers from Paper 9, fussy cut butterflies from the 6×8 paper pad , tiny Enamel Dots, and a pink photo turn from the Chipboard Stickers. I hung one of the beautiful Charms from a pin along with some beads, sequins and silver thread. So pretty!

If you’ve never created layers with your cut files, here’s a how-to from my YT Channel

Thanks so much for visiting, cheers!

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛

    1. Hey lovely Laurie! Thanks for swinging by and your kind comments too. It’s pretty avangard as far as Christmas traditions go. But I’m never one to embrace to the usual 😆 Viva la colourful life, LOL. With a room full of colourful paper and every other thing imaginable, it’s hard to go with the norm…..not that there’s anything wrong with it (quoting Seinfeld, ha) ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Thank you sweet Lavinia ❤️ I put the tree up after Remembrance Day (Nov 11) here. The days have melted into weeks and months don’t they? I’m thinking because there’s not very much variety in our lives right now. There’s no gatherings, no concerts, no holiday travel to add to our fabric of life. It’s snowing big time right now, so that’s a change, ha! “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….” (hum along) 😄 xk
