Bloom Street Memorydex Cards

Hello, hello! Kelly here with another Bloom Street project for Paige Taylor Evans’ Silhouette Design Team. I’ve changed things up today and designed Memorydex cards.

They’re a super fun way to use up bits of a collections. Also, I must admit, I find mini things are so darn cute. I like to make my cards about 4.25″ X 4.25″ and store them on my Heidi Swapp Memorydex.

I called my first card, ’Sunshine In A Jar’. I used the Mason Jar cut file and a plastic page cover to make my jar. The palm tree, beach umbrella and sun are from Paige’s Summer Sun In Wreath cut file. The rainbow is part of Paige’s Rainbow Hope cut file.

I used the Knife Tool in Silhouette Design Studio to cut away the beach items and rainbow from each cut file, then resized them to fit my project.

The colourful Puffy Word Stickers were perfect for adding ‘SHINE’ to the outside. I tried to use the 6×8 Paper Pad for most of the paper backing because the patterns are smaller and perfect for these mini things.

My next card was inspired by world events as of late. Paige’s Geometric Peace Sign cut file was backed with another piece of paper from the 6×8 Paper Pad, then backed with acetate and popped up with foam tape to create a shaker card.  Paige designed the pretty raindrops, but I think they could be teardrops these days. Let’s all hope for positive change!

As I spin around my Memorydex, I see both sides of a card. So I always like to have a little bit of something on the B side of a card too or finish both sides of a transparent card. This is just a personal preference and twice the fun.

When the peace sign rolls over, you see Hope, Hope, Hope ! The letters are from Paige’s Rainbow Hope cut file. The glitter backing was made by layering 1/4” Score Tape on a slightly smaller circle. Starting at the top, I sprinkle each row with glitter one at a time. I also machine stitched over the words, leaving the thread ends messy.

The base of my final card was with a Memorydex Die by Heidi Swapp and another paper from the 6×8 Paper Pack. If you don’t have the die, there are a number of cut files in the Silhouette Design Store to choose from. The card is built up by backing Paige’s Stained Glass Heart cut file with vellum then layering floral stickers from the 4-Page Sticker Book and butterflies from the exclusive Bloom Street Ephemera Bundle . The LOVE letters were fussy cut from a tag on Paper 1 and tucked in and on the layers.

When the card turns over on my Memorydex, the B side reveals a stitched background made with Bloom Street Washi Tape and some extra tapes from my stash. If you’re a member at Paige’s Facebook group Happy Scrappy Place, you can get this cut file for free in her Drop Box, it’s file 43. Thank you Paige!

Thanks so much for your visit 💕
