Up Up & Away Layout with Bloom Street

Hello again friends, Kelly Daye here with my newest Silhouette Design Team layout for lovely and sweet Paige Taylor Evans.

I’m feeling so well rested and happy these days. My days are filled with spring time walks, chirping birds and like this layout, with all the colours.

I will never tire of rainbow layouts and love planning new and fun ways to do them. Bring on the needle, threads and Paige’s Sketch & Stitch Clouds Background . Anyone who stitches on their layouts will know, this can really be a labour of love, but the results are so pretty ! I’ve stitched all the colours in the rainbow in three tones each. Using my go-to chain stitch with 6 strands of DMC embroidery floss. The gold swirls in the background were added with a gold metallic Cameo pen before I started stitching to give the illusion of tangled balloon strings.

The background paper and bicycle are both AC Cardstock cut on my trusty Cameo 3. I cut three word tags from Paper 13 and added them tone on tone. This is my own version of Pixar’s ‘UP’ but with a sweet Tandem Bicycle cut file by Paige. One seat for Jim  and one for me.  I love the floral banner filled with bits of Paper 5. The purple tires, Paper 3 and yellow frame, Paper 14 are perfectly girly, sorry Jim.  The green fenders are courtesy of the 6×8 Paper Pad.  There were flowers in the basket with this cut file, but I trimmed them off and replaced them with this pretty posy of violets from the Floral Ephemera Pack.

My title is made with Mini Thickers from the Whimsical Collection.  They were perfectly sized to fit on the tires, fun and colourful.

Finally, you can’t have a flying bicycle without balloons ! I used one from Paige’s Balloons cut file then copied it 7 times to cut them out of the heart paper in the 6×8 paper pad and Paper 6. At first I was going to add them to the background as a tone-on-tone embellishment but I think they stand out much nicer scattered around, what do you think? Each is anchored with a piece of gold metallic thread so my bicycle glides through the air effortlessly 😉.

Don’t forget the sparkle! A few sequins from my stash were scattered around the page along with dabs of gold Stickles.

I hope things are looking up in your world too, see you again soon!

    1. Good Morning lovely ! Thanks ever so much. I’m a bit addicted to stitching at the moment, ha! The more colour, the happier I am. Lately I’ve been feeling like things are looking up and so, that’s where I was coming from design wise. Have a beautiful day Lavinia !! 🥰💕
