Kelly Made It For Paige Taylor Evans With Bloom Street

Hello friends! Happy Good Friday, I hope you’re well and enjoying this time at home with family. I’m so happy to share another Silhouette Design Team Project today.

It’s a set of ‘Quilted Cards’ I designed with pretty Bloom Street and a gorgeous cut file by Paige called Floral Butterfly #277103

Isn’t it pretty !? I thought it was perfect for a tri-fold card, with the floral wing on the front and a solid butterfly inside.

I began by slicing the cut file in half in Silhouette Studio. I used both pieces to design my card, adding holes for stitching to the solid butterfly in Silhouette Studio. Here’s a short video on how that’s done.

I used Paige’s Doily Stencil to add white texture paste to the solid butterfly. I thought it complemented the floral wing on the outside of the card really well and looked like a damask quilt. Hence the name of this project. Once the paste was dry, each butterfly was chain stitched with 6 strands of white DMC embroidery floss. I’m crushing on the white-on-white. Did you notice the XO’s on the inside? They’re the Mini Foam Alpha’s from the Whimsical Collection.

I also cut a piece of vellum the exact size as the floral butterfly wing to lay beneath the cut file. Each one was randomly tinted with various Archival Inks. Once glued together, the floral wing was taped to the card front.

Paige’s Bloom Street collection is so beautifully co-ordinated, it was easy to plan four distinct cards with this one design.

Visit my post at the Paige Taylor Evans Blog for all the product details.

Until next time, please be well and take good care xK

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛

    1. Hello lovely P ! It probably would sound complicating if you didn’t have a Silhouette. It’s really not if a person uses their Cameo a lot. For sure, these aren’t the kind of card you’d make if you weren’t cut file crazy.

I’m in the process of making a second video that shows how I used Paige’s file to make my card in Silhouette because someone asked for it. I have to figure out how to shorten it since there’s soooo many steps. She might be the only one that enjoys it 😀 LOL

Thanks so much for your cheer, it’s so nice to hear xoxoxo K
