Happy Wednesday !
I’ve been busy, busy in my craft room and working in the garden, planting up our summer flower pots.
So I naturally thought about this cut-file by my talented New Zealand friend, Virginia Walker of Confessions of a Paper Addict, or COAPA Cut-files
These Gum Boots are oh-so-cute paper-backed with Sunny Days by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper.
To speed up the process, I used a new trick I learned from Paige Taylor Evans. Here’s the awesome video tutorial if you want to learn this fab short-cut too. Paige’s Layout is just sublime, take a peek !
Using this technique, I was able to cut the backing pieces of pattern paper into an intricate shape that fit’s exactly. So much faster !
Once the Gum Boots were paper-backed, I added all the little details I like to play with. Including chipboard and stickers from the collection, Sequins and the fun pom-pom frame, also by Crate Paper.
To create an interesting boarder, I set my main design on a slight slant and stapled up opposite corners of the paper. I like how you see a peek of the pattern on the other side (winking at Paige on that one too).
One of the most fun things about scrapbooking is meeting and being inspired by new friends and sharing tips and tricks. I took the silly photo while working in the garden and texting with my friend Lindy @Lindys_Happy_Place . Lindy’s a talented scrapbook gal and also from New Zealand, small world right?
Here’s the final layout again 😀 I hope you’re having a fabulous week too!
You can shop for this collection locally and on-line at Treasured Memories !
Hello hello ! So nice of you to visit and leave a sweet message Lavinia! Thank’s so much x Bravo on your crafty card making 😀 It’s a slipper slow. First a few cards, then you buy storage boxes. Next thing you know, you have a room full of ‘stuff’ 😀 LOL I’ve been extra busy at work and it’s all fun. Still, looking so forward to seeing Alys in Victoria in just a couple of weeks. Hope the summer sunshine is finding you ! xK

I am always happy to stop by here and see so many beautiful things! I’ve started making my own cards now, but they are nowhere near as nice as yours!
