Hello again friends !
I’m so excited to share my newest layout with you because it features my lovely friend Pauline at our first group dinner in New Zealand. Visit Pauline at The Contented Crafter for all manner of magic 😀
I’ve used a combination of Pink Paislee’s – Turn The Page and Oh My Heart to back the flowers. Both were designed by Paige Taylor Evans as was the pretty flowered frame. Paige very graciously gifted it to friends of her awesome Facebook group.
Here’s a fun little tip. Do you ever buy scrapbook collections in a paper pad? The patterned paper is normally only printed on one side and just white on the other. I’ve bought a few of these for collections I just love. But there’s always the odd page you don’t think you’ll use. Just turn it over and use it in your Cameo for these intricate cut-files. The paper’s normally lighter weight in a pad too, so it cuts beautifully.
Here’s my finished cut-file before all the goodies. It’s not a hard process but you will need a bit of time and I think it’s well worth the effort 😀
Paige made a really wonderful tutorial to share her process!
What a talent! Can’t you just wait to try it too?
There are so many gorgeous extra’s you’ll want to use in these collections. Including the puffy stickers and rub-ons which I just loved. Remember the days when rub-on’s only half worked. Well it’s been a while since I’ve ventured to them again and wow! Things have changed! The buttons and tiny flowers around my layout are all rub-on’s and they transferred so easily. Look for these two items to make your layout’s extra special.
Finally, I often get asked how I print my photo’s. After editing them on-line at Pixlr Express (it’s free), I print them at home on my Epson Printer. Personally, I like when the photo complement’s my layout in colour and style. Rather than just changing them to black & white, I love to add different overlays of colour and texture until they feel right for me. Here’s an example of the photo of Pauline above, before and after Pixlr.
I lightened it and added an overlay to have similar tones as my layout design !
I don’t scrapbook to save photo’s really. I like to scrapbook for artistic fun with paper and to convey my feelings about special memories. I keep albums of all my photo’s on-line in Google Photo’s and can visit them anytime to download or just enjoy.
Thank’s so much for sharing your time here!
I appreciate it so much
Cheers, @kellymadeit

Eat dessert first; I am in favour of that!

❤ Why not? For a while, there were these 'progressive dinner parties' that neighbours would do. Some made desert, another the entree, another a salad and yet another an hors d'oeuvre. The twist is, you started with desert first! It may be time to start them again I think 😀

You could also try making it an international progressive dinner party. Pav first in NZ and then…….might end up a very long dinner. 😀

Thank you so much Lavinia. I actually just bought a bunch of shadow box frames at Michaels and have my favourites, including this one, hanging in my craft room. It looks so happy in there, I could stay all day every day, except for the spring yard work, LOL x K

I remain impressed with what you can do with paper! I haven’t seen that photo before and I’m also impressed with what you can do with them 🙂 The whole layout is rich in texture and interest, you are very clever and have an excellent eye for form and colour! I always like what you make ❤
