Catacular Layout with Tricks & Treats by Paige Evans

Howl-oo scrappy friends! 🧡 Welcome! Today I’m sharing a new Cut File Design Team layout with Paige’s pretty Tricks & Treats collection.

Stitching palooza. Dusk till dawn 😃!

I began by stitching all the flowers on a torn piece of Paper 1 with all 6 strands of DMC Floss. This took about a week, but I enjoy it so much. Here’s a peak at the colours I used.

For the background, I cut out Paige’s Spiderweb cut file from white AC Cardstock. It’s also available in Paige’s 13 Halloween Cut Files Bundle.  Instead of paper backing the spiderweb, I used it as a stencil. With a few Distress Oxide Inks and blending brushes, I stencilled a colourful Spiderweb on the top right of my background.

When you splash water on Distress Oxides, you get this fun bubbly warn look.

My layout features my black kitty-cats, Blossom and Petals. If you recall, we lost sweet Blossom in April of this year, but I couldn’t bare to leave her out 🧡.

To add more colour and fun to the photos, I added index tabs from the Journaling Ephemera, Mini Puffy Alphas and the iridescent, ‘BOO’ from the Phrase Thickers set.

The title, ‘Catacular’ was made with the Phrase Thickers. I used ‘Spooktacular’, but swapped out Spook for an ‘a’ and ‘c’ from other words. I always get two packs so I can customize phrases if I want too.

In the feature collage, you’ll find; Floral Ephemera, Mini Puffy Stickers, Journaling Ephemera, Icon Ephemera, Foam Stickers, Cardstock Stickers and Enamel Dots.

Did you notice the shaker tucked in? I used one of the frames in the Journaling Ephemera

Finally, I sprinkled icky spiders around, stitching a dangly thread for two of them to bounce in on. OMGee, freak me out, LOL !

How about your own pretty pages? Have you ever used a cut file as a stencil?

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room. I love working with paper to make cards, layouts and Mini Albums. So happy you came by💛

    1. Right !? Kitty-cats make any day, every day better! Thanks kindly for your cheer Herman. Since I know this paper thing is not your thing, I appreciate you hanging out. Hey! Maybe you can mix up a spooky soundtrack on that cool Casino guitar and vintage Theremin you scored way back when. You never know, your electronic Halloween music could be sending the kids to the dance floor this year 🙂 xK

      1. I’m always interested and fascinated by people doing creative things, no matter what they do. It can be musicians, writers, painters, sculptors, filmmakers… Almost all my friends are creative people with open minds and that’s welcome in these troubled times…

    1. Thank you so much Lavinia! Hope you’re happy and healthy on that gorgeous farm of yours. 💛

I used to get notified of comments on my blog, and now somethings gone sideways! I’ll have to figure out why I don’t anymore. Sorry for my tardy response lovely.

I’m heading to the admin side to look for your message for Herman too.

WordPress is so unfriendly these days. It asks me to subscribe to my own blog when I reply to comments here. Weird. xK
