Hello sweet friends 💛 Up today, a colourful summer layout featuring Blooming Wild and Paige’s Splash Zone Cut File.
Is there anything more fun and refreshing on a hot summer day, than splashing around in a lake, river or if you’re lucky enough, the ocean?! Even better if you can play fetch with a best fur friend like Maggie.

The cut file and background are cut from white AC Cardstock. All the backing pieces and the shaker were planned in the Silhouette Design Studio. Here’s the shaker I made before adding it to my layout.

Watch my Cameo Tutorial to learn how to make a 3D shaker without any foam tape.
After backing the splashes, I chain-stitched each with a matching DMC Thread. I used all 6 strands.

Did you notice there’s a photo in the letter ‘O’ of the title shaker too?!

I cut all the photos and matting with a nested die set I have.

I used the Chipboard Buttons to suggest water drops and fussy cut a few butterflies and teeny tiny flowers from Paper 16 to sprinkle around my layout. The sequins in the shaker are a mix of minis from my stash.

Have a happy summer, friends! See you again soon 💛
Sounds like most people in North America would be ready for a splash. We’re having the coolest and dampest summer for years and relishing it! That no doubt is about to change 😉 Beautiful work, as usual Kelly

Hello friends, thank you so much! After a wet June, which is typical here in Alberta, we’ve fallen into a heat doom this week. The high today, 34C. I just don’t go out 😆 On the news, I’ve seen some major flooding in Europe and hope that you and your travel guests always remain safe! 💛

Thank you. We do always fear floods and fire. Think the worst flooding was in Italy but no fatalities, which is always a relief.

What a beautiful design, Kelly! “Splash” sounds good right now, too. Our high is forecast for 102 degrees today.

Thanks so much for your cheer Lavinia! Nerds on the weather ! One day last year, I was in Denver and it was 104F. I couldn’t breath and Uber’d 4 blocks away because I thought I’d die b4 I got there 😆 It’s super hot here for the next week too. 32C or 89F That’s 10 degree warmer than our average. It’s not cooling till the weekend, so I’m hunkered down inside. Stay cool and hydrate my friend and I will do the same 💛

Hmmmm. I could watch your video, but when I clicked “watch on YouTube,” I kept getting an error. I hope it’s just me. I like the look of the stacked letters. Foam is a pain to work with unless it’s something really simple.

I got it to work. Technology is not always good to me. Feel free to delete this thread so we don’t confuse anyone else

I wish I was in the Splash Zone right about now. It looks cool and refreshing. I’m still amazed that you can stitch on paper without creases. Your layout is stunning.
