SPRING with Splendid for Paige Taylor Evans

Hi friends ! Is it springy in your neighbourhood yet? I was wishing for it with this layout and Paige’s, 19 Spring Cut Files Bundle along with her beautiful Splendid collection.

Paige’s ‘Spring In Flowers’ cut file is quite intricate. So to back it, I made all the pieces in the Silhouette Design Studio first. This makes backing the letters precise and goes much faster. I made this video for a previous layout and you can see how I make the backing pieces (start watching at 2:24) .

The letters were cut from AC Cardstock. I recommend cutting the paper-backing pieces, one letter at a time, because there’s so many for each letter. Once paper-backed, I popped up the letters with 3D foam squares, leaving space for my photos. The white cardstock background, was cut with a Scalloped Border cut file and taped to Splendid Paper 17.  BTW, the border is totally free here on my blog. Click this link to download it.

I chain stitched around the Scalloped Border with six strands of DMC Variegated Floss No. 4502. With this intricate cut file, I chose the embellishments sparingly. A sweet bird, from the Splendid Ephemera Pack, sits on a nest made from sewing thread.

I added gold hearts, ‘sweet’ tag, and ‘wonder’ from the Splendid Thicker Stickers. Finally, tiny flowers from the Splendid Cardstock Stickers seem to blow across the page.

Thanks so much for being here! See you again soon!

  1. I’ve caught up again, Kelly, enjoying your beautiful, colorful designs along the way! Spring is around the corner, but some days hard to see it coming. We had a thin covering of snow last night. How is your weather up there in Canada?

    1. Hello lovely Lavinia. Thank you for your visits around here. Our weather is improving from last week. We got a large dump of snow last weekend and then the temps took a major slide to -20’s overnight. We’re used to it warming up mid April but March is iffy. I can’t wait to walk through a garden centre. 💛💛
