Hello again friends 💛. I have two Cut File Design Team layouts to inspire you this week. Read on to see why!
I’ve used Paige’s, Rounded Squares Background cut file for both.
My plan was to paper-back the cut file with pretty Blooming Wild Paper 18. Then lay it over stitched Paper 12. Have you noticed, these two papers are identical in colour, but Paper 12 has flowers on it?
It took about two days to chain stitch with these DMC Floss.
But after all that, I found that the paper-backed cut file overwhelmed all the pretty stitching! For a moment, my heart sank. But there’s always a Plan B!
I cut out another Rounded Square Background from white AC Cardstock, left it open (no paper-backing), and glued it over my stitching.
Then, I popped up the paper-backed cut file onto another sheet of white AC Cardstock with foam tape (layout on the left). Voilá, two pretty backgrounds to design with!
My first layout, ‘Hey Lovely Sweet Friend’, features photos of a visitor that joined us at a local pub as we sipped wine on their patio!
I made the tiny squirrel sized banner to fly over my photos and surrounded them with beautiful ephemera from the collection.
To add balance to my layout, I added a collage of rainbows on the top left.

Since I already had a paper-backed cut file, why not make another layout? My second layout, ‘Awesome Blossom’, features my sweet and lovable kitty Blossom. How perfect that her name is part of the Puffy Phrase Stickers!
The cut file was paper-backed with pretty Blooming Wild Paper 18 and popped up over white AC Cardstock . Again, another collage of all-the-pretty-things surround my chunky cuddle-bug. Blossom turns 14 this summer.
So my misstep in planning turned out A-ok and I have two pretty layouts to enjoy! I hope you’re inspired to use one cut file in two ways too! Thanks so much for coming by!

Hi Kelly! Jimi is also ok, he turns 5 next month so he’s still a little boy to me. I had some minor health issues lately but everything’s under control.
Last week we had a traditional garden party (although we had to run for shelter) and I could finally play the Beatles song ‘When I’m 64’… 😉

5 already! Time is speeding up! It’s hard to avoid minor health issues at our age. I’m two years younger than you. Sometimes when I think about the number, I don’t know whether to be horrified or thankful, LOL. Belated Birthday Wishes now! I just attended a BBQ with good friends I’ve known since my 20’s. We all agreed that we don’t look too bad, haha. 💛💛 Keep well and enjoy what remains of this crazy summer🌈
