Hi friends, welcome back! It’s a rare appearance of my hubby Jim today and a layout for lovely Paige Taylor Evans
I’ve used Paige’s beautiful and inspiring, Blooming Wild collection and Cut & Bend Flower Background cut file. This is the first time I’ve used this file and I’m completely smitten. After your electronic cutter cuts the file, you simply and gently, bend up the flower petals. What you get is a beautiful reveal of the floral pattern with your paper peeking out from beneath.
I sized the cut file to 11″ and centred it on my mat in the Silhouette Design Studio, then cut from white cardstock. After, I trimmed a ½” off on all sides. I used a rubber stamp and 10 Distress Oxide Inks to mimic splatter all over the background. Then bent up the flowers (it took about an hour). I used spray glued on the back and centered it over the gorgeous rainbow Paper 22. I love the rainbow of colours peeking through!
Next, I built two collages, one top left, the other on the bottom right. They’re filled with all-the-pretty things from the collection, including Floral Die Cuts and Chipboard Ephemera by way of butterflies and birds. I used the oval LOVE Die Cut as my main title. It’s stitched with DMC floss and adorned with the Mini Puffy Flowers.
I used the Alpha Thickers to spell ‘MY’ and set that on one of the Chipboard Milk Caps. It’s tucked into the top collage and completes my title. Around the background, you’ll find sweet coloured hearts from the Puffy Phrase Thickers and little coloured flowers from the Mini Puffy Flowers. They compliment each other so well !
My photo is set into a chipboard frame with a pretty floral index tab, both from the 12×12 Chipboard Sticker Collection. For even more texture and impact, the index tab was adorned with Foiled Ric-Rac and a transparent floral spray, both from the 8 Page Sticker Book. Also in the mix, a floral tag from the Journaling Tag Pack and finally, a pretty green heart from the Puffy Phrase Thickers. There’s so many pretty little things in Blooming Wild to build your layers with, to add texture, colour and interest.
Finally, I chain stitched, tone on tone, all around my layout with 24 colors of DMC Floss ! I love my DMC collection!!
Are you still keen for rainbow layouts?
So kind of you to come by, see you next time.
Rainbows are always beautiful in any form!

Thanks again lovely 💛 You know, the last rainbow I saw was in Maui I think. We’ve had two great downpours this week but they’ve been later in the evening, so near dusk. Keeping my hopes up though, summer’s just begun 🥰
