Santa’s Best Day Ever Layout for Paige Evans with Splendid

Happy Holidays crafty friends!  I’m sharing a festive Design Team layout made for Paige Taylor Evans today. I’m using the Banner Cut File from Paige’s 25 Days of Christmas Cut Files 2019. You’ll get 25 cut files for just $25 ! That’s a fab deal!

Paige Evans Christmas Bundle 2019

Rather than the typical Christmas collection, I’ve used Paige’s pretty and colourful Splendid collection.  It’s so perfect for my Christmas celebrations because I decorate my pink tree with every colour under the rainbow. I love my Christmas decor to be girly-whimsical (new genre, ha).

I cut out the Banner Cut File from white AC Cardstock on my Cameo 3. To surround the banner with lots of colour I fussy cut all the gorgeous flowers from Splendid Paper 1. They’re nestle around the paper-backed poinsettias and I think, still give a sweet holiday vibe. You can tweak up the flower edges to add shape and shadow.  I made an offset of the cut file in Silhouette Design Studio and cut it from Splendid Paper 10. To add more pretty texture, I chain stitching all around and made french knots in the centre of the poinsettias.

Instead of paper backing the ribbon, I cut them out of yellow Horizon Paper 1. I think Splendid Paper 5 would be super pretty too, but I didn’t have it on hand. I chain stitched the ribbons too and popped them up with foam tape for even more dimension. I like to create lots of levels of paper on my layouts.

Please ignore the cat hair, LOL! It’s in and on everything here 😁

I made the background with an 11″ square of AC cardstock that’s been bordered with 1″ strips of colourful striped Splendid Paper 3. It ties my whole design together perfectly. Now, have you ever used non-scrapbook product on your layouts?  I hadn’t before, but check out these candy baking sprinkles!! When I spotted them at Homesense, I thought they were perfect! I added a strip of 1/4″ Super Tape by Thermoweb along the edge of the striped paper and sprinkled them on.  I LOVE it so much, the baubles look like sparkly ornaments 😀 I think they’re super fun !

I ate a few too, ha!

To finish it all off, I added my title with the Thickers Letters from Paige’s Horizon Collection and you can still purchase them, yay! ‘Santa’s Best Day’ for sure, LOL ! This photo is me in grade 11 with my Highschool gang on Santa’s lap. LOL, you can barely see Santa, but my guess is he enjoyed the visit. I added the word ‘ever’ beneath the banner with the Splendid Mini Foam Alpha Thickers.  The little blue bird is from the Splendid Die Cut package.  I like when a die cut like this looks in the direction of the photo. The little pink faux letter board saying, ‘Warm and Cozy’, was a must! That was Santa that day for sure. I cut it out of Paige’s Garden Shoppe Paper 12.

Would you make a Christmas layouts with non-Christmas collection? That being said, watch for a Paige Taylor Evans Christmas collection with American Crafts next December! I CAN’T wait, it’s going to be EPIC !

From my heart to yours, have a wonderful Christmas!

Thanks so much for coming by, xox

  1. Hello Girly Whimsical. You don’t get enough credit for your clever words and phrases. I’m smitten. Look at you with Santa and the gal pals in grade 11. That’s a fun memory for sure and worthy of this stupendous layout. Boy of boy, you’ve got the chops. I’m having a good giggle over the candy border. I never would have thought to do that. You can now add “tasty” as an additional adjective to describe your gorgeous designs. xo

    1. LOL, tasty! I’m sure thats a credit not said about too many layouts 😁. It seemed to me, when I spotted the sprinkles, they were begging to be part of a colourful scrapbook page, ha! Thank you so much for your big visit around Kelly Made It hon! The team is currently waiting anxiously for Paige’s next collection (she’s already mailed it), Blooming Wild. OMGee, it’s colourful and super pretty. Did you see my friend, Deb Lechky, front right? She looks practically the same except her hair is white 💗💛xK

        1. We all got JPG’s of the entire collection a few weeks back and each of us chose our favourites to share in a reveal on Instagram. So while not a total surprise, a delightful surprise when it arrived this past Tuesday! I spent an hour with it all spread out on the floor, then reluctantly set it aside to finish a stitching project. I’m just today, making the last few stitches. I must say, it’s to die for, LOL xK

          1. I’m sure it’s exciting like Christmas to see it all together. I can’t wait to see your Instagram reveal. Well done getting your stitching finished as well. Do you listen to music or watch TV during the big stitch projects?

          2. I more ‘listen’ than watch TV or listen to music. The Blooming Wild reveal was on IG back on Feb 3. Paige has a flip through video of the entire collection on her YT if you’d like to see all-the-pretty-things 💛

    1. Happy Sunday Lavinia and thank you so much for your generous visit. Still getting ready for Christmas at the Daye home. We did get the tree in place and hopefully get some ornaments on it today 🙂 Thank you for your Holiday wishes too. It’s pretty quiet and relaxing here. Hope you and Rick have a beautiful Christmas ! 💗K
