Wow, day 23 already! Hope you’re having fun with Paige’s 30 Days of Boy Cut Files Bundle. You might know, I lived at a local lake for many years, so this cut file was a natural !
Maybe you’re the adventurous thrill seeker who’s navigated crazy wild rapids in a canyon somewhere! That’d make a fabulous layout!
But really, who hasn’t floated on something at the lake? Either on vacation, a weekend to the cottage or like me, in my own backyard. Like 5 feet from shore within reach of the cooler, LOL. I fell for this cut file and knew right off which of Paige’s collections I would use! It’s beautiful Bloom Street. I’ve used Paper 22 (still available) beneath Paige’s Dot Scallops Background cut file. It reminded me of gentle waves and I love the soft colours that come through. I cut the Rafting cut file out of Pink AC Cardstock on my Cameo 3.
Our lake days were before Smartphone cameras where an easy daily thing. So some of my older colour photos are quite faded. I use an App called Pixlr to bring back colour or add some interest, like the bokeh you see here. Don’t be afraid to add things right on top of your photos too. It looks far more integrated into your design when you do. I’ve added stamping, paint, beads, a butterfly and a tiny flower to mine!
Of course my raft is very girlie (that’s how I roll here) and filled with a few of my favourite papers from the Bloom Street collection. Including: Paper 7, Paper 14, Paper 16 and Paper 9. Most of which you can buy right now! Yah!
I used papers from the 6 x 8 Paper Pad to cut out the letters in RAFTING, it’s still available directly from American Crafts. Instead of paper-backing the letters, I popped them up with 3D foam tape. Of course I wanted to stitch something and added some chain stitching to the raft with 6 strands of DMC Floss in coordinating colours. The ‘water-spray’ in the cut file is also paper from the 6 x 8 pad. Some pieces backed the cut file, while others are popped up. I thought it looked more ‘splashy’ this way, what do you think?
So that’s a lazy day in the sunshine, rafting at the lake! I hope you got some ideas to make your own Rafting Layout!
Join the fun, purchase the entire bundle (the best price) OR just this individual cut file! Use the Links to shop!
See you soon! Cheers, Kelly 💗

Looks like you have been having fun with this. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a lake and I know I didn’t swim in the ocean. My kids did. The bathtub was as adventuresome as I got.I would get so lost in all that paper and just not know what to do with it. You manage to figure out something spectacular every time. Sooo cute!

Hi hi Marlene-a-go-go ! It’s easy to get lost in paper, pattern and colour and that’s the part I enjoy. I’m beginning to think anything and everything can be put together. Yellow Polka-dots and Tie dye? Sure why not, there’s no ‘mistakes’ in scrapbooking 😘 Thanks so much for your lovely message. Just having a ton of fun here 😍💗
