Things Are Looking Up – Day 9 of 30 Days of Boy Cut Files Bundle, Arrows

Hey, hi, hello friends!  Thanks so much for coming by, it’s day 9 in Paige’s, 30 Days of Boy Cut Files Bundle.  I was pretty excited to work with the Arrows cut file and had so many fun ideas!

Did you know, with this Bundle, you can purchase the entire bundle (the best price) OR just the individual cut files you love? Use the Links to shop!

I looked at this cut file and thought about a theme or title I could go with. I could be looking forward, looking back, looking up, growing up, falling down (I do that sometimes, ha),  flying somewhere, at a Circ du Soleil show, growing a garden, scrap about tall brothers, sisters, friends. So many possibilities and I’m sure you could think of more just poking through your own photos. In the end, I chose, “things are looking up” because I have a lot of photos of our visit to the Eiffel Tower !  Si magnifigue, non?

I began by stenciling my white AC Cardstock with a cloud stencil and Oxide Inks. Then used my Cameo and the Jordan Sketch Font by Lori Whitlock to write ‘Things Are Looking up’ along the bottom (click on image for full size).

I punched tiny holes in the writing with a straight pin and back stitched with 5 strands of DMC Floss in colours to match my layout. For a rainbow look, I changed colours about every 1.5 letters. Then, I paper-backed the cut file with paper from several Paige Taylor Evans Collections, here’s the list and the chain stitched Arrow Cut File (click on image for full size):

I just love these colours! The finished cut file was popped up on my background with 3D Foam Tape then it was time to embellish.

I added three epoxy travel words from Paige’s Horizon Collection. Luckily, it’s now available in digital ! Add some Glossy Accents or Crystal Glaze to the digital prints to make a similar embellishment. The fussy cut birds are from Paige’s pretty Turn The Page Collection, also available in Digital.

Finally, a smattering of tiny sequins, gold metallic paint and White Nuvo Drops.  Have you missed any days so far?  Pop over to Paige’s website to catch up ! Join Paige and the Design Team at her Happy Scrappy Place Group on Facebook for lot’s of Bundle inspirations this entire month!

Thanks so much for coming by and have a gorgeous weekend of creativity friends!

See you again soon ! Hugs, Kelly 💗

  1. Love the way you turned these arrows and created such a positive page. The shot of Paris made my heart sing. One of my favourite cities in the world. Gorgeous colour blending, superb stitching. You rock my friend!

    1. Helen! Thank you so much for visiting and your generous message too! I think half the fun of scrapping is just picking out and mixing papers and threads. It’s almost like sewing something. I used to sew a lot for work. I enjoyed getting the fabrics, maybe mixing pattern and colour, a contrasting collar or cuff, then the accoutrements like buttons and trims. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it or at least not until I’ve used up a LOT of stash, ha! 💗☀️💗

  2. Kelly, you are so creative its ridiculous. What a stunning layout. You never disappoint. I havent bought a bundle in a while, but so pleased I can buy individual cutfiles. I find the “boy” cutfiles are great for school photos of my girls.

    1. Sweet Lindy ! You’re a doll to come by and thank you for your awesome message too 💗💗 I love that Paige is offering these individually this time. Lots of girls have asked before and I think it makes it easier for some to join the fun.
You’re so right, you can make them your own and scrap all kinds of themes besides boys. I still want to do one more with one of the cut files coming up. It’s soooo perfect for a photo with my doggo Buddy, stay tuned !! 💗💗 xK
