It’s Good To Be Home Layout with PinkFresh Studio

Hi friends,  It’s been a lot of fun making my Memorydex Project, but I’ve been jonesing for a layout and chose Pinkfresh Studio Happy Blooms today.

I started with Versamark and a Splatter Stamp by Carabelle-Studio to emboss with white on my pink cardstock. I love the effect !

I’m just a wee bit in love with all the colours and ephemera. I’ve paired it with a cut file by Sweet Afton called Diagonal Plaid Pattern. I can imagine so many ways to use it

Sweet Afton

I cut it out of white AC Cardstock twice and lightly taped them together. I like how it feels and looks more substantial and this made it sturdier to sew on.  I sewed simple lines in Pink, Blue and Yellow to complement the collection.  I think it adds more interest and texture. Once popped up with 3d foam tape, it was a nice jumping off place to build my design on.

If you’re a Pinkfresh Studio fan too, you’ve probably seen their coordinating Stamp/Stencil/Die sets (also available individually). I’ve ordered a few and I have to tell you, they’re totally awesome.  The butterflies on this layout were made with their Small Butterflies set.

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemon, Shaded Lilac and Spun Sugar to compliment PFS Happy Bloom Collection.  I love that I can make them quickly, any colour I like with the stencils.  Inspired by girls on their amazing team, I also used the PFS Curvy Leaves die to add some vellum leaves to the mix.

My photo is framed with PFS Stitched Scalloped Square die and set it in the middle of the page. It fit perfectly in this cut file. I used iPages on my MAC to bring my photo into a diamond shaped mask, so I could print it turned on an angle. I took a screen print of it and opened that in a iPhoto to print. Once printed, I trimmed it and added the frame.

Hope you found something to incorporate into your own creations!

Hugs, Kelly

    1. I’m so glad she’s still there for you to shop. I don’t know how helpful I am there. I get too excited, running in circles, loading my basket. LOL If you ever have time, float around IG or pinterest till you find something that you think is irresistible. I’d say start there but put your own twist on it.m💛🌸💛

      1. That’s great advice, Ms. Boomdee. I’m so impressed with the changes Nina made to the store, and all her efforts to remain afloat. She did a lot of online business and opened when she could. We’re now back to mask-wearing indoors thanks to all the selfish people that won’t get a vaccine. Grrrr

        1. Double Grrrrr ! I don’t know if you saw a story the other night about a hairdresser. Very young and fit, single father. Didn’t get a vaccine because he didn’t think he needed too (what???) . So he got covid, hospitalized, almost died. The news were doing the story as a warning to others and mentioned at the end that this guy had a GO FUND ME page, because he can’t work. Now I’m a generous person but honestly, he didn’t get a FREE Vaccine after all the warnings, got sick and almost died, like they warned him and now is needing money because he can’t work…..it’s very frustrating to hear about these people who come hell and high water ignore medical advice……Grrrr is right !!

  1. Oh my gosh Kelly! How adorable 🥰 only you could have a pink house. I love the crisp white diagonals highlighted with the candy coloured stitching. The butterflies are beautiful and the whole thing is a delight. Thanks for all the explanations too.

    1. Hi Helen! How lovely to visit and leave such a nice message. Thanks so much for this. 💛💛
It’s a bit funny that after two years of house hunting, we bought a house with burgundy trim. Our previous home, at a lake, was painted a colour called bordeaux. A rich burgundy with the trim painted a colour called ocean. My brother didn’t see the nuances and thought it was simply aqua and pink, LOL So this home seemed a natural and the only house on the block with these trims. A bit of a one-trick-pony when it comes to it 😁
How are you feeling? Recovering well I hope ! xK

  2. Good morning! It feels so light and fresh here. I love what you’ve done with the place. Your layout is stunning, surpassed only by your cleverness. Well, maybe not surpassed but equally impressive. (Did I mention that I’m your number one fan?) You make it look easy-breezy.

I like the idea of a splatter stamp. That’s really clever, and of course you’ve put it to good use. The grid is amazing to, and your stitches are always gorgeous. I think I need new reading glasses though because I actually had to bring my laptop toward my face to see the colored thread. I miss my youth!

Love and hugs which is just a placeholder for the real deal. One day. xo

    1. Did I mention you’re just adorable ? Thanks so much for cheering me on, it’s all a lot of fun for me so I’m glad that shines through. Funny you mentioned new glasses. I’ve been feeling like things might be a little blurry at times too. Gak! Nerds! Fudge! and any other PG words of annoyance you can think of, LOL.
I wonder if I need to shake up my style sometimes, like expand and grow. But I always come back to the same tricks (or vibe) because I love how these things turn out. As Popeye would say, “I yam what I yam”….”gack, gack, gack” (laughing like Popeye there) 😀
I’ve fallen in love with die cutting again because the products have taken a turn and it’s all new again. Funny how that happens xoxo 💛💛 K
