MEMORYDEX BOX CARD #7 – Beach Daze

Hi friends, we’re off to the beach this Sunday. Basket in hand, will the sun be shining?

When I was little, our family would speed off to a local lake several times over the summer.  It was fun to watch dad waterski and picnic with my cousins. When I grew up, I lived at the lake and became a pretty good waterskier myself.  Can you pick me out?

Beach Daze

A beach bag has been part of the weekend for most of my life and my pick for this week’s card, Beach Daze.

The cut file includes the Beach Daze necessities, a swimsuit, beachball, soda bottle and sunglasses.

As with the previous cards, I’ve added stitching and a few gems

It’s card 7 of my summer stash busting project.  Each is free for your personal use. My Memorydex Box is filling up! I’m just in love with the mix of colours and textures.  Visit all the previous posts for tips on creating these cards.

If you’re a Silhouette owner, download the free cut file here.  It’ll look like this when you open it in Silhouette Studio, ungroup it and away you go.

If you want to use the SVG, just send an email to Kellymadeit.wordpress@gmail.com. Let me know if you’d like the entire Memorydex Box collection and the next 3 cards as well, so you only need to contact me once.  There are two ungrouped files this week. They’ll look like this when you open them.

Here’s a short tutorial to help you put it all together .

Putting together the soda bottle

Unfortunately, my camera didn’t record this, but here’s the scoop.  I cut the larger bottle twice, once from white cardstock and once from clear acetate. I glued them together with a tiny dab of Glossy Accents. The straw was glued on top of that, also with glossy accents. The smaller shaped soda bottle, with the bubbles, was also cut from clear acetate that I coloured with Archival ink. I then glued it on top of the straw. I love how this gives the illusion of a glass bottle. Of course you choose your own materials.

So nice of you to pop in!  Please tag me if you give it a go.

Cheers, Kelly 🌸💛

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛

  1. You’re all adorable! Your photo is a treasure. I think all three girls (cousins) look quite a bit alike, here. I wasn’t sure either and thought perhaps that was you on the end. Your projects are adorable one and all. I like seeing them altogether in the box as well, brightening up any space. xo

    1. Hi again honey! Thanks so much for your big visit! I laugh at this photo because Wayne is a rack of bones. I’m not sure if they’ve seen it for a long time. I’ll have to send it to them. I like them best all together too. I haven’t put them in order and have changed the order as I go along. This is a very loosey-goosey project 😁 💛💛xK

    1. Hi Lavinia 💛 You’re right ! That’s me in the red swimsuit. I think I was probably 10 years old. The boys goofing off in the back are my brothers. The other kids sitting with me are cousins. The cutie in the middle is my cousin Sherri, we’re still pals, she’s so adorable. Thanks for your visit lovely ! xK

    1. Thanks so much. So happy to hear that. I’m wearing the read swimsuit in the photo. The little girl on the right is my cousin LeeAnn, now a mom of two grown kids. Where do the years go? Cheers, K

    1. Hello my friend. I’ve been thinking of you and Jimi while watching news about flooding. It looks really frightening. I hope you’re doing OK. I’m in the red swimsuit above. Also sitting are cousins of mine and the boys behind my dad are brothers.
I hadn’t looked at this photo for some time, it did bring back a nice memory. Surprisingly, I actually remember this day. Be well Herman xK
