Dance In The Rain Layout Made With Bloom Street

Hello creative friends!

I’m back with my latest Silhouette Design Team Layout for Paige Taylor Evans. I hope you don’t mind another rainbow !

This one was inked on vellum, using a stencil I made on my Silhouette. If you want to try it, grab the free cut file here.  I used Oxide Inks and my favourite blending brushes.

It’s all put together with Paige’s Bloom Street Collection. We’ve been creating with it since January and honestly, I will never tire of it. For something new, I used Paige’s Scalloped Borders cut file to shape the edge of my layout then added a favourite song verse. Here’s my Cameo tutorial if you’d like to learn how.

I fell hard for a song by Kacey Musgraves, ‘Rainbow’. To better tie the verse around the edge to my layout, I added colour with my Copic Markers to the e,i,o,g,p’s (letters with a loop).

The waves we float along on are from the 20 Days of Summer Cut Files Bundle called Waves Background (Day 19).  If you didn’t get the bundle, check out Paige’s cute Waves Background #326440, available at the Silhouette Design Store.  Once paper-backed, I cut it in half. The bottom half was popped up with foam tape to create a space for the hand stitched tea cup ,another Paige Evans cut file !

Since the background is patterned, I edited the Tea Cup Cut File to remove all the detailed cuts then added an umbrella, floral spray and the Pinwheel Cut File to make it the focal point of my layout. There’s me and Jim in Maui and I’m trying to do one of those jump-in-the-air shots, lol. Major fail because I fell down.

Finally, I tucked my title into the waves, ‘Dance In The Rain’ is a sticker from the Bloom Street Ephemera Bundle.

Super nice of you to stop by ! Pop on over to

Paige Taylor Evans.com for more product detail.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛

    1. Hello my love 🥰 Thanks again for cheering me on. It looks easy, because it actually is. I’m not, by any stretch of the imagination, an expert at Silhouette Studio. Often it’s a bit of trial and error. But sharing what little I know might be fun for someone else too, so I pass it on. Silhouette Studio is so dynamic, I’ve barely scratched the surface, so there’s always something new to try and for me, that’s fun. Toodles Noodles 😍 so nice of you to comment and visit, mwah!

      1. Mwah back your way. I’ve heard that Photoshop is very much like that: layer upon layer upon layer of things to learn. I’m so glad you’re having fun with all these tools. I visited Creative Escapes today, and she’s replaced all the fixtures and moved the checkout counter. It looks great! The fixtures are lower, and the checkout backs up against the wall, so you can see everything at a glance. I really like it. They aligned three tall shelves in a row to create a wall between the merchandise and the classroom area. You need to fly in for a visit. (wishful thinking, but a gal can dream, right? xo

        1. Apparently, if I hired a private jet I could ! 😂 So we’re both dreamers, hehe. There’s a free AP on-line that’s pretty much a Photoshop twin. It’s called Photopea. It works pretty similar. I had Photoshop on my old computer that crashed and loved it. Now, you have to subscribe at Adobe and pay a monthly fee which is a bit much.
Creative Escape sounds awesome, let’s put it on the list. We can swing by there before the Drive-In 😄💛❤️🥰

  1. What a brilliant video Kelly. I learnt so much from your cameo tutorial. Love the music you recommended to. The links you provided made it so easy to find Paiges’ cut files. Fabbo all round. How kind of you to take the time to teach and encourage others. Thank you.

    1. I’m so happy you found my video helpful Helen ! I love sharing how you can use Paige’s cut files and maybe in ways you hadn’t thought about yet. It’s so easy when you see how. If you ever have a question, there’s always someone at Paige’s Happy Scrappy Place that’ll have the answer and of course, I will do my best to help too. The easier things are, the more fun they are I think. Thanks for always supporting and your kind comments too Helen. I truly appreciate it. 🥰 K

    1. Hello my dear! Thanks for cheering me on, you’re always so kind 🌈 I’m glad you connected with Kacey Musgraves. Seems like her song is perfect for this time in the world. Lots of people hurting, but if they can hang on, I think we might be a more compassionate bunch in the end. I can spend hours on itunes. Another one I downloaded recently, by Randy Coleman called Long Road. Like you, he’s a singer songwriter and I love the lyrics, “come and meet me at the edge of dawn, where the light and the shadow they live as one”. I just think that’s poetic and epic. He sings about having songs that ain’t being song and his mama comes, with wings on her back to rescue him and sing along. It’s just beautiful, have a listen, I think you’ll enjoy the guitar. Cheers my dear! Sing on! xK

  2. You are making my day Patricia!! Thanks so so much 🥰❤️. I’m always worried if there’s too much or not enough info when I do those videos. Then there’s the narration…gah! I sound funny to me, but maybe everyone does to themselves when recorded. You absolutely could run a Cameo and if you ever want to entertain it, you’d never regret it. You learn a couple of tricks and Bob’s your Uncle. Hope you’re doing well. If you ever want to meet up for a picnic (Coronation Park?) jet me a private message. I miss you xo 🌸🌈

  3. Oh Kelly, as you know, I am not a Silouette owner or user but your tutorial was amazing. You were so clear and went so slow. I had momentary thoughts that I could run a Silouette and have so much fun with Paige’s cut files. I love to dream. I hope you continue doing tutorials. I certainly enjoyed this one.
