Kelly Made It with Crate Paper – Flourish

Thanks so much for popping in!

Have you played along with any scrapping challenges this month?  There’s plenty going on, but my favourite’s are always at Paper Issues.

The gals are all just lovely over there. They have a number of challenges posted at the beginning of every month.

Use this link to play along, shop and be inspired by their design team. I joined in  with the ‘PI Partners Up’ challenge. It’s a new one for me and really fun! Their partner, ‘Stuck Sketches’ posted this layout sketch for us to emulate.

So, this is what transpired in my craftroom.

I’m scrapping my photo’s from Australia and spotted this cute Koala cut-file at the Silhouette Studio. The circles were also cut on my Cameo with a simple nested circle cut-file.

I added a bit of texture by sewing around them with gold thread. The nice thing about the circles is it gave lots of opportunity for places to tuck in the other elements. I used some simple craft foam between each to create depth.

I typed ‘heaven’ using the BROMELLO font. Get it free on Dafont.com

I actually cut out several ‘heaven’ so that I could layer them all together for a chipboard effect.  Once stacked and glued, I embossed in gold. Once cooled, I added a generous layer of Gold Stickles. It was a little more work, but now ‘heaven’ looks like a nice Thicker or glittered chipboard piece.

If you’d like to create a title similar in style to ‘Koala’ below:

  • type ‘your word’ using the IMPACT font.
  • un-group the letters and offset each individually.
  • exaggerate two or three of the letters (depending on the length of your word)
  • un-group each letter from its off-set
  • cut out the letters (I used yellow patterned paper here)
  • cut out the off-set of each letter (I used white)
  • glue or tape each letter to its off-set.
  • create your word, overlapping the letters a bit.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to drop me a message below. BTW, here’s what could happen when you stay in the craftroom too late (3 AM). Things were all ducky, I thought I just had to add photo’s, LOL  Do you see it?

Thanks so kindly for joining me here! Happy scrapping 😀

Cheers, @KellyMadeIt

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛

  1. Oh hello there! So funny, I just enjoyed a stroll through Hobbiton 😀 Thanks so much for your message dahling.

Well now, this page is a little more juvenille than I’d usually do, but I really wanted to use that Koala Cut-file. I just like the idea of floating along with balloons, LOL For some unknown reason, I really love to scrap Pink and Yellow together. I noticed this in my sidebar gallery. I guess I’ve done that in your room too. OMGosh, I might have to rethink the aqua thing. 😮 Ok, I had a little think and I’m still hip on aqua too, LOL

Maybe we could do online lessons. Via skype or facechat? That might be fun. 😀 xo k

  2. Boomdee, what a cheerful page. I like the idea of using a challenge to launch a layout. It’s a nice starting point. You must have spent hours on this beautiful page. I love the cute koala photos along with the cut out version you added. Is that a cut file too? I wish you were here to give me lessons. Xo
