My idea of the perfect flight is a nice little nap along the way. I’m always prepared for ultimate comfort with my kitty mask and puffy neck ring!

Hello fellow scrappers, lol, how about when you fly? Can you sleep? I’m sharing a new Design Team layout using Paige’s colourful Adventurous collection and two cute cut files, Off We Go and Folded Circles.

To make the background, I cut the Folded Circles from a full sheet of Paper 7 from the 12×12 Paper Pad. This ensured that, when folded, the pretty florals would show off around a white centre. I wanted something a little more than a plain white background but not too overwhelming because I had planned for very colourful luggage.

The Off We Go cut file was cut from white AC Cardstock. My goal was to back it with lots of pattern and colour using: Paper 5, Paper 6, Paper 15, Paper 18 and even a tag from the Card Making Kit. You don’t have to limit yourself to backing a cut file with just the 12×12 papers.

I also made an off-set of the cut file in the Silhouette Studio and used a straight pin to make holes for stitching. Then, chain stitched with all six strands of white DMC floss. I made shakers in the letter O’s using the same technique as my Splash layout, using a stacked-paper technique rather than 3D foam tape. Learn how by watching my YouTube, beginning at 4:00 minutes.

I added my photo in a Chipboard frame, embellished with a Rub On, Mini Thickers and Mini Puffy Stickers.

Floral Ephemera, Enamel Dots, more Mini Puffy Stickers, another Rub On and that gorgeous floral airplane made up a magic-triangle around my layout. Making three focal points in a triangle on your layout is a popular scrapbook technique. It’ll take a viewer all around your project with hits of interest to focus on.
I hope these tips, tricks and details will help you celebrate your own special moments using Paige’s new Adventurous collection with your favourite Paige Evans cut files!

Beautiful designs, Kelly! I love the kitty mask. 🙂
I haven’t flown since 2019, and mostly they were short, 2 hr flights with a couple of long ones back east thrown in. I generally can’t sleep on planes.

Hi Lavinia 💛 Thanks so much for your message. I got that kitty mask from a friend in Australia. I laughed at first, but it totally does the trick. It’s so soft and along with my neck pillow and usually my iPod and some soft music, I’m fast asleep. The only draw back is, I snore. LOL.
I slept most of the way to Australia. It was an overnight flight, 13 hours from Vancouver 😆 Jim read a book and watched 3 movies. I tried to read, but that made me sleepy, ha! I think it’s the quiet hum of the engines. Cheers my dear. xK
