Hello friends. It’s been a month and a half, but the tears come as easily as that day, if I let myself think too long. I didn’t know if I’d ever share this project, because of it. But this blog is like my crafty diary and life isn’t always easy.

Blossom was a birthday gift from my brother 16 years ago. She was the most gentle kitty we’ve ever had. She loved to be brushed and would start meowing with happiness the moment you opened the draw to get the brush.

At dinner time, we’d laugh when she’d poke her head into the cupboard where we kept her food. It was as if she was picking out dinner and somehow knew the sound of that particular cupboard.

Before we even had her bowl done, she’d already be sitting in her spot waiting. Like a lovely and sweet guest at a kitty cafe. Blossom loved to eat and it was hard at times to ensure she didn’t have too much. She’d wait for our nibbler, Petals, to abandon her dish so she could swoop in and clean it up too.
Blossom loved tummy rubs and would flip over at your feet to ensure she’d get one in. As soft as a cloud, with a white spot on her tummy, I loved it too.
As kitty’s do, a lot of napping took up her day in-between birdie watching from different perches in the house. Blossom was a chirper and we could always tell when something caught her eye.
Most of all, Blossom loved to be with her peeps. Mostly in Jim’s lap in the evening or on her pillow in my crafty room all day. Daddy called her, ‘my little sweet-pea’, because she was an honest and true sweetheart.
I miss her so much and still haven’t read the card from our vet. Blossom was diagnosed with a melanoma on her gums. It grew so fast. But we did have a couple of weeks to say goodbye and love her extra hard, if that was even possible. So, that was a blessing in the heartbreak.

This post is dedicated to Blossom and other pet mom’s and dad’s who’ve lost their little love(s). It’s just the hardest thing, arms around you.

My heart breaks for your loss, Kelly. Blossom was a beautiful, sweet kitty and a dear soul. We can add some spring flowers to Herman’s Cherry Tree Garden, she can be part of that.

Dearest Lavinia, I just noticed my reply didn’t show up. So sorry for this tardy thank you. Blossom is missed every day and the reminders around the house, like her pillow and basket still tricker tears at times. You know all too well the hole in your heart our dear kitties leave when we say goodbye. Thank you so much for your caring message.
I’m sure you’re busy enjoying your beautiful property now that the weather has brought sunshine and rain to our gardens. June is especially rainy here, and luckily we’ve had a far bit this year. In fact, just today, I finished planting some annuals I bought two weeks ago.
It’s very early morning now, we’ve had some rain overnight and there’s a robin chirping near-by to keep me company. I relish this time of year. Not too hot and the rain wakes everything up, keeping things green and clean. I hope you’re feeling happy and healthy these fine days. Big hug, xK

We are all OK here. This winter, including into June, has been drier than normal. We did get some rain yesterday, and today is overcast and grey, and cold! 37 degrees this morning at sunrise.
