Hopefully, we’re a ways off from snow. But even when it does arrive, it isn’t all bad! Today’s Cut File Design Team layout with Sugarplum Wishes by Paige Taylor Evans is a nice reminder.
Paige’s, ‘Do You Wanna Build A Snowman’, was cut twice from white AC Carstock and glued together.

I really like the chunkier feel and look of a nice thick cut file. I then backed the entire title with a shadow of the cut file I made in the Silhouette Design Studio. Want to know how, watch my short Cameo Tutorial:
Once my cut file was prepared, I cut the centre out of Paper 12 to make the letters. They’re popped up with 3D Foam Tape. I used the rest of Paper 12 as a border around my layout. I LOVE all the colour it introduces! My background is another piece of white AC Cardstock cut with my FREE, Stitched Scalloped Border Cut File. Click here to download the .studio3 file. It’s chain stitched with 6 strands of DMC Variegated Floss #4502. I love the look of scalloped stitching.

The snowman was paper-backed with Paper 1. It’s actually a tag sheet, but you don’t have to just make tags. The patterns and colors are often unique and not found in the rest of the collection. The very top of his hat is Paper 6.

To jazz up the background, I used the Sugarplum Wishes Stencil Collection with Distress Oxides to add snowflakes, then topped those snowflakes with sparkly snowflakes from the Sticker Book. I think they help the white snowman stand out from the white background. What do you think? The yummy ‘candy buttons’ on his tummy are Enamel Dots! It’s awesome to get so many in a package.

Of course I always have fun creating interesting collages around my layouts. There’s so many wonderful things to work with in Sugarplum Wishes. The collage includes, ‘Happy Holidays’ from the Icon Ephemera pack. It’s topped with Mini Puffy Stickers, more Enamel Dots, then flanked by a pink gingerbread star from the Sticker Book. Pile it up, pile it on, make it your own ! I love it all ❤️

To fit my photo in on the left, I turned it into a faux polaroid. This also allowed for a few more details like an embossed card, mauve rick rack, two foam stars and candy cane striped matting. Sounds like a lot right? But in small doses, more is delightfully more.
I hope this gives you some new ideas for your own pretty projects! Don’t forget to share your own pretty projects Paige’s Happy Scrappy Place on Facebook!

Both of your snowmen are adorable. You really no how to bring the magic with your fine details. Another winning layout.

Hi Alys, thanks a bunch! Building a snowman is fun for kids and adults alike. Happily, it can only happen when there’s snow AND sunshine because the snow has to be kinda sticky. It’s my favourite kind of winter day.

I really do want to build a snowman. It’s been the hottest summer ever and I’ll take all the snow they can dump this winter if we even have one. I think we need to get under 80 degrees to feel like thinking about Christmas though. The card is absolutely adorable though.

GAK ! The heat, it’s relentless isn’t it. I’ve been thinking the same thing, will we actually have a winter? It’s not been super hot in Edmonton for too many days, but up north it was 33 C the other day. That’s 91F and it should be like 25 degrees cooler up there. The entire country needs rain desperately. That being said, I’m glad I have an indoor hobby I love and can pass the bad days. Thanks so much for coming by and cheer me on lovely Vonderfrau!! 💛
