Happy Holidays my friends!
Thanks for popping in during this busy time. I can hardly believe it’s December 12th. It’s been a whirlwind of creativity in my crafty space. I just love this time of year so much.
I love the music, the lights and all the colourful decor that finds its way out and about around our home. It’s all inspired my Design Team layout today.
I used two of Paige’s pretty cut files, #228016 Doily , #235738 Star Wreath along with Paige’s Horizon collection. It looks like I fussy cut a ton of stars right? Surprise, I didn’t! I actually used very popular Horizon Paper 3 to cut the Star Wreath and then placed them all back into my white cut file. You can read all the ‘how-to’ details at Paige’s Blog today.
To make my background, I used Prima Watercolour Confections in Pastel Dreams and Tropicals to paint a round wreath on to white AC Cardstock.
I set that to dry and cut Paige’s Doily cut file out of another piece of white cardstock and laid it over top my painted wreath. I leaned back and said, “oh that’s pretty”! LOL! It’s so fun when you love how things turn out. I created a couple of vignettes for my photos with embellishments from the collection. Follow me to my post at Paige Taylor Evans.com for all the product detail.
So pretty with more colour, interest and texture. The yellow tassel is from Paige’s Whimsical collection and nicely balances my design.
At this point I thought, “wouldn’t a rainbow of chain stitching frame it all nicely?” So I pulled out a mass of DMC embroidery floss and chain stitched around the edge, changing colours as I went around.
I always love just a little more eye candy 😀
