Hello friends ! Just back from a fab holiday.

I really couldn’t get into the craft room fast enough, I was eager to make something pretty 😀  Does that happen to you when you’ve been away?


I’m still on a high from Paige’s, Cut File Design Team, announcement ! Having finished my next Design Team Project, which will post on August 29th at Paige’s blog, I was able to do a just-for-fun layout. Once again, I chose Paige’s Horizon Collection.

I worked the whole layout with one sheet of Horizon, Paper #3

Plus two of Paige’s cut files, Bird 274320 and Feathers 235735. Both Available in the Silhouette Design Store and in Paige’s Etsy Store.

To start, I spread white texture paste through Paige’s brand new Heart Stencil. There’s currently six fab designs to choose from. At six inches square, they’re easy to store and can sit on your workspace without taking up valuable elbow room. I like that a lot!

Then I painted with watercolours by Prima. Have you tried Prima’s watercolours? The ‘Pastel Dreams’ set perfectly co-ordinated with Paper #3.

I added a few layers until I arrived at the colour intensity I thought I wanted. Then I watched this process video of Paige using the exact same paint and a cute layout she’s just finished.

 

I decide I needed to be a bit more bold and returned to my background to add more colour. I was so happy I did.

My title, ‘Birds Of A Feather’ was made using Thickers from the collection. I also dabbed a bit of watercolour around them to blend them in with the rest of the layout and sewed through with gold thread.

The Puffy Phrase Icons in the Horizon collection are really flexible and I decided to glue one around the top of a cloud.

What took the longest was adding a simple back-stitch on the sweet bird cut file. But I love how it turned out. My gilded bird fly’s through the clouds carrying a banner of rainbow feathers and a photo of my trip. We three are ‘Birds Of A Feather’ and love to be together!
