Kelly Made It – July Month Kit at Treasured Memories

Hello friends !

This month, I’ve personally selected all the papers and pretty treasures in our July Month Kit at Treasured Memories. It’s full of happy colours to kick off our summer with a smile.

There’s ribbon, colourful mini hearts, gorgeous patterned papers, fun Thicker’s, four cut files and much more! I’ve designed three of the cut-files especially for this kit !

Also new this month is a Cut-A-Part Sheet I designed with papers from the kit. Colourful titles, frames, arrows and phrases will help you design like a pro.

If you decide to scrap-lift one of the layouts, there’s some tips following the gallery too.

I hope you enjoy creating with it and thank you so much for shopping at Treasured Memories. Click on any photo in the Gallery for a full size view.

Tips for Heart Melt

I paper backed the cut file and coloured a few of the stamps in the kit.  The chipboard cafe set was painted white to seal the paper and left to dry. Once dry, I dabbed it onto a Glue Pad (omitting the umbrella), then sprinkled gold glitter on top. Once dry, I glued rows of sequins on the umbrella. Here’s a close up.

Tips for You & Me

I paper backed the camera, leaving the lens for last. There’s an envelope in your kit with three pre-cut pieces.

The round acetate piece is to make a faux shaker. Here’s a short walk through.

Interesting layouts mean adding fun little details. Here, I bent over a corner of my matted photo and stapled it.

Tips for Aloha

I’ve made the entire painterly wreath background with Prima paints available at Treasured Memories. We have a wide range of colours, opals and metallics. They’re so gorgeous and buttery. By varying the amount of water added, you can get many hues of the same shade. I used a dinner plate to lightly draw a round circle, then have fun and be creative!

Once dry, I machine stitched lazy circles around my wreath with gold thread. No need for perfection, whimsical looks perfect.

The florals are all fussy cut from one of the papers in the kit. I’ve used washi tape to add a small detail aside the photo’s. Just adhere it to a scrap piece of cardstock and tuck it into your photo mat.

TIPS FOR SHINE

Another first for our month kits, Embroidery thread ! I’m more than a bit addicted to hand stitching on my layouts.

It really adds a special touch to everything and is so easy to do. I’ve made this short walk through video for stitching the word SHINE.

There you go, not tricky at all !

I used my fringing scissors on the 6×12 piece of rainbow paper to back the word SHINE. First, cut the rainbow paper into 3/4″ strips. Once fringed, put it back together on a piece of scrap cardstock measuring 4 1/2″ x 10 1/2″, slightly overlapping each fringe. Tape the fringed rainbow onto another 12×12 piece of cardstock so that it’s visible beneath the cut-file. Add 3D foam tape to the back of the cut file to raise it up slightly over top.

Finally, Use the 4×6 stencil in your kit with random sized circles to create the boca effect on the bottom of the layout. I used Distress Oxide Inks, applying with a make up sponge and light touch. Practice on a scrap paper first.

Tips for Hello Love

The Rose Heart cut file is easy to back using the circle templates in your kit. Simply trace them onto the patterned paper, cut out the circle and glue to the back of the cut file. To decorate the edge of the layout, I added a sequin to a basic straight stitch. Just pierce holes about 1/4″ apart and have fun picking your colours.

I used one of the cards on the Heidi Swapp Colour Fresh Journaling Card sheet to mat my photo. Save it before using the rest of this paper.

TIPS FOR LIFE TODAY

Easy breezy ! This page uses elements from the exclusive Cut-A-Part Sheet and Thicker’s in your kit. You can make it dimensional by adding 3D Foam Tape to some of the elements. If cutting out the centre of the polaroid frames is too tricky, simply tape your photo on top. Here’s a few close up’s.

I hope you’ve picked up a few tricks to make your scrappy projects extra special.  Like sequins, use them in a shaker, sew them on a boarder, glue them on to a shape or just sprinkle and glue them around your layouts for extra bling.

Please leave any questions in comments below and happy crafting friends!!

Cheers dears, Kelly ❤

  1. I’m glad you’re having fun. And I’m sincere when I say that you look like a pro. I’ve watched a number of these types of videos and you’ve got it down. It’s to be expected that you would have a learning curve. It will get easier with each new video.
