Kelly Made It with Crate Paper – Flourish

So I’ve decided to scrap holiday memories from our trip to Australia and New Zealand using Project Life pocket pages. Are you familiar with this style?

You can fill the pockets with photos, journaling, saved ticket stubs or even sea shells if you want. The possibilities are endless. There’s several different configurations. Like these, by Becky Higgins.

Since I still love to make 12×12 layouts, each spread in my album will include one of each. One side will be a layout and the other side a Project Life pocket page.

I’m using Crate Paper’s beautiful collection from the lovely Maggie Holmes called Flourish. Have you been scrapping with it yet?  It’s just so delicious and the ephemera is so pretty.

What’s also fun about scrapping with Project Life Pockets is, you make little scraps for inside the pockets AND also decorate the top of the pockets. Like these scraps designed for one pocket. The fringe, flower truck and journal card are all on the outside of the pocket.

This card was tucked inside the pocket

When it’s all put together, it looks like this!

I love making all the pretty layers very textured. Butterfly’s float around through sparkly sequins, paint splatter and gilded ephemera to create the illusion of a visit to the garden.

Here’s a peek at the other layout 😀

Do you do Project Life Pocket scraping?  Leave a link to your projects, I’d love to see what you’re up too!

Cheers, @KellyMadeIt

Lucky me, I have a dedicated craft room and currently on the Cut File Team for Paige Taylor Evans. I mostly enjoy making 12x12 layouts and Mini Albums. Thanks so much for coming by 💛

    1. Sunshine !!! So nice of you to swing by! Thanks so much for your gorgeous message! It’s pretty much my daily ritual this crazy hot summer. Wake, coffee, craft ! How awesome is that? How’s your garden holding out? Is it fried to a crisp? I hope not. It’s so lovely with the chickens, cats, bunnies and who know’s what else xo Boomdee

  1. Hello hello! It’s been crazy-busy around here, but believe it or not I made a card this morning…at 5 am! I couldn’t get back to sleep and I had a super full day, so I started my day making the card.

Clearly *you* have been uber busy making layouts of your trip. I’m so glad you could jump right into these projects. Quick question: when you use project life on one side, and a layout on the other, what happens when you turn the page? Do you alternate a 12 x 12, then Project Life, then Project life then 12 x 12? I hope that makes sense.

Your layouts are charming as ever and your smile is simply adorable. xo

    1. Hi ya lovely Californian maven of gardening 😀 Sorry for this delayed reply. For some reason I’ve fallen behind on the regular routine again. I’ve been out of the house almose daily.
You nailed the project life layout! Bravo! Yes, when you turn the pocket page, the next set of pages are reversed. You just alternate this way to the end of your album. I actually don’t usually put my layouted into page covers and albums. I use box’s from Ikea. They’re light cardboard. 13 h x 13 w, the perfect size. But with this type of scrapping, using the pockets, I’ll put them in a album. Thank you sweets for your nice message! xoxo
