Happy Valentine’s!
This year, I’m expanding my love connections to include new darling friends!
Rocket and his mom Marcia are fabulous friends from Oregon via Instagram. Sweet Corgi Rocket, was a very special Valentine eight years ago. They live on the gorgeous west coast of America and have the most fantastic days filled with ocean views, sandy beaches, walks through giant forests and lot’s of snoodle kisses.
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CORGISAURUS?
It’s a fun challenge they do too! Rocket hides, almost out of sight, and Marcia takes a photo. Friends visit on Instagram to see if we can find him 😀 Naturally, I’ve fallen madly in love with them both and so when I found out Rocket’s Barkday is February 14th, I wanted to send something special.
This paper Valentine transpired…….
Not your typical red, but green, like the forests Rocket loves to walk through. Look! There’s Rocket now!
Walking along the beach as ocean waves come and go. The giant forest tree’s bring dabbled shade as the sun shines through the fluffy clouds. Maybe he’ll cut through that flower filled meadow on his way home, just over those hills.
The heart-shaped shadow box is actually a candy box cut-file from Silhouette Studio.
I had lot’s of fun thinking about all the walks Rocket and Marcia share on Instagram and recreating my imaginary scenery. Once placed inside, the top of Rocket’s Barkday Box was decorated with simple flowers, sequins and a banner, all cut on the Silhouette.
The scenery is bit’s of patterned paper pieced together to tell this little story. Since no birthday party is complete without hats, I also used my Cameo to send one along! Naturally, Rocket is riding a rocket to his next adventure!
I hope you’re 8th Barkday
is every bit as special as you, Rocket!

Hello my dear friend. I’m back home as of last evening. Marlene is just as wonderful in person as she is on her blog. The time flew by. I’ll try to get up a post this week, but I have a full schedule with work and a volunteer commitment. I can’t wait to see you in just a week now. Your photos have been amazing. Love and hugs, xo

Hi Lisa! Thanks honey! Isn’t Rocket just the cutest doggie ever? You MUST get onto Instagram so you can meet up with Marcia and Rocket. Marcia’s a fabulous photographer and takes loads of pics on the west coast with Rocket 😀 Hey!? you’re the baker, do you have a recipe for doggie cookies? I think you could really make nice gifties if you did 😀 xo K

Rocket certainly looks happy, probably all the walks in the woods!!! I don’t have a recipe for doggie cookies. Hmmm…. probably as I am dogless, but…

I’d love one, but they aren’t allowed. I could have one if I moved somewhere else…

Dang, condo people are missing out. I suppose it makes some sense. Someone’s doggie might not be well with being left alone and barkity-bark-bark. It’s tricky when the neighbours are very close. ❤

Thanks so much Lavinia ❤ I just adore Rocket and Marcia too. You make the nicest friends on-line and I've been lucky enough to meet a few. Of course, I love playing with paper too.
